It is possible for some early stage tongue cancer patients to survive more than 10 years after radical surgery. Tongue cancer belongs to the category of oral cancer, for early stage patients, if they can have radical surgery to remove the tumor, most of them can get cured, and research has confirmed that the five-year survival rate of patients with stage I tongue cancer is around 90%. According to the different stages of tongue cancer, combined with the patient’s own physical condition, patients can choose various anti-tumor treatments, such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, etc. Generally speaking, the earlier the stage and the better the physical condition, the higher the possibility of patients to get a clinical cure, and the longer the survival time of the patients will be, therefore, it is possible for patients to survive for more than 10 years. However, once tongue cancer develops into middle or advanced stage, the cure rate of the patients will obviously decrease, and the five-year survival rate is only about 30%. Therefore, in order to prolong the survival time of tongue cancer patients, early detection and early surgical treatment are crucial.
