Debridement surgery usually takes about 1 to 2 hours. If accompanied by symptoms of intracranial hemorrhage, the operation time will be extended, and it is difficult to determine the exact time.
Generally, for cerebral infarction or traumatic brain injury, intracranial hematoma, etc., craniotomy is required for decompression. If it is a simple debridement surgery without intracranial hemorrhage and the procedure is relatively smooth, the surgery can usually be completed in about 1~2 hours.
If it is accompanied by intracranial hemorrhage, the operation will also remove hematoma or stop bleeding, the exact operation time is difficult to determine and may take several hours.
Patients are advised to choose regular hospitals for this type of surgery, and consult the attending doctor before the surgery to understand the exact duration of the surgery, related precautions and possible complications, and to be psychologically prepared.
