Dental implant restoration process

To restore a missing tooth with an implant-supported restoration, you need to go to the hospital for an examination. The doctor will design a plan for the placement and number of implants based on the intra-oral situation and radiological imaging of the alveolar bone, and then start the preparatory work before the implantation by extracting teeth with no retention value or hidden problems, treating teeth with periodontitis or decay, and orthodontic treatment if necessary. These are to allow the implant to stay in a relatively clean and stable environment. Then the implant surgery is started to place the implant in the bone. Next, it is necessary to wait for the implant and the bone to create an osseointegration, a process that takes about two to three months, and then the impressions (bite impressions) are taken to create the crown. Of course, this is the most common case, some cases of insufficient bone volume require bone augmentation surgery in advance, and some front teeth with sufficient bone volume can be considered for immediate restoration after implantation, depending on the doctor’s design after examination of each patient.
