Probability of breast cancer metastasizing to the lungs

Lung metastasis may occur in late stage of breast cancer patients, but the chance of metastasis is uncertain and needs to be analyzed with individual patient’s situation.
Breast cancer is a malignant lesion with invasive characteristics. When the lesion develops to the advanced stage, in addition to the metastasis of the cancer to the surrounding tissues, there may be metastasis of the cancer cells through lymphatic pathway and blood transportation pathway.
Among them, lung is the most common metastatic site of breast cancer, and the rest of the metastatic sites are found in pleura, bone, liver and brain. However, it is uncertain whether metastasis occurs and the exact site of metastasis when it comes to an individual.
For advanced breast cancer patients, it is necessary to improve relevant examination programs to clarify the current lesion situation and organ metastasis.
On the one hand, surgical treatment should be carried out for the primary lesion, removing the lesion tissue and clearing the surrounding lymph nodes as much as possible, so as to reduce the chances of recurrence and metastasis of the lesion after surgery. On the other hand, we will correct the function of the organs to improve the quality of life and prolong the survival time of the patients.
