Fractures of the tibiofibula are most common in long tubular fractures. They are mostly seen in children and young adults. They are most often the result of direct violence. If it occurs in the lower and middle segments, it tends to cause delayed healing or non-healing. Poor re-determination can produce traumatic arthritis. Symptoms 1. pain and limitation of movement of the affected limb after injury, 2. local swelling, pressure pain, deformity, abnormal activity or bone rubbing sound can be heard. Diagnosis is based on 1, history of trauma, 2, the above symptoms and signs. The fracture can be seen on X-ray. Treatment 1.Stable fracture, external fixation in plaster or small splint after repositioning. 2. For unstable fracture or open fracture, perform bone traction or surgical re-fixation. Or use external fixation brace to fix the treatment. Evaluation of efficacy 1.Cure: good fracture alignment, alignment and fixation, and complete or basic recovery of function. 2. Improved: good alignment of the fracture and healing of the surgical incision. 3.Not healed: unsatisfactory fracture alignment and alignment, inaccurate fixation or deformed healing seriously affects the function of the affected limb.
