These schemes are based on the first principle of practicality, minimizing the damage to the donor area, not losing the trunk vessels, and obtaining the best coverage at the least cost. In particular, the “universal crossover solution” allows the flap to reach the exposed area freely, effectively covering areas that cannot be addressed by conventional island flaps, while avoiding the risk of free flaps and damage to the trunk vessels, making it a universal solution with good therapeutic effect, wide coverage, low cost to the donor area, and use in multiple trauma areas.
