Rehabilitation exercises after foot and ankle ligament surgery need to be carried out in three stages, including simple ankle, knee and hip activities in the first two weeks after surgery, active flexion and extension exercises in 2 to 4 weeks after surgery, and weight-bearing exercises in 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. 1. The first 2 weeks after the operation: under the plaster fixation, firstly focus on the flexion and extension activities of toes, ankle, knee and hip joints, and the static contraction exercises of quadriceps and gastrocnemius muscles, to prevent the joints from sticking together and the thrombosis of the lower limbs. Strengthen the isometric and isotonic training of leg muscles other than hip joint and joint activities. 2. 2~4 weeks after operation: wear ankle support after removing plaster. Take the initiative to perform ankle dorsiflexion and toe flexion and avoid practicing ankle inversion and eversion. Practice ankle dorsiflexion and toe dorsiflexion with partial weight bearing on the affected foot, and do not walk too much. 3. 4~6 weeks after surgery: Use the muscle strength training belt to train the strength of the lower limbs to prevent muscle atrophy of the lower limbs. Exercise standing with one leg in the weight-bearing position, and lunge leg press for about 15 minutes every day, so that the ankle joint is dorsiflexed and the sole of the foot does not leave the ground at all times. With the assistance of muscle strength training belt, perform standing balance exercises of the affected foot, continuous passive stretching exercises of the ankle joint, and one-legged standing balance exercises. It is recommended to carry out rehabilitation training as soon as possible after ankle ligament surgery under the doctor’s guidance, so as not to affect the ankle joint activities, and at the same time need to pay attention to the way and method, if there is any discomfort, please go to the hospital in a timely manner, consult a professional doctor, in order to avoid the adverse consequences.
