What to do about stage 3b hypofractionated stomach cancer

Patients with stage IIIB poorly differentiated gastric cancer are usually treated with comprehensive treatment measures such as surgery combined with chemotherapy or radiotherapy, or neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with surgery and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy according to the different conditions of each patient. Stage IIIB poorly differentiated gastric cancer belongs to locally advanced gastric cancer. Generally, radical surgery is the first choice for treatment, and 4~6 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy are given after surgery, commonly used chemotherapeutic drugs such as oxaliplatin, tegretol, capecitabine, etc. If there is any cancer residue at the end of surgical incision, postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy is also needed. If the patient’s tumor is large and radical resection is difficult, 3~4 cycles of preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy are usually given first to reduce the size of the tumor and the degree of infiltration, then radical resection is given, and then adjuvant chemotherapy is given after surgery, and adjuvant radiotherapy is also needed if there is cancer left at the end of the surgical incision after surgery. It is suggested that patients should choose the appropriate treatment method according to their own situation under the guidance of doctors, and actively treat the tumor to avoid delaying the condition.
