The cotton stuffed in the extraction wound can be removed or spit out in about 30-40 minutes. For teeth with larger trauma, some blood will ooze out of the extraction wound after extraction, so cotton balls or cotton rolls can be applied to press on the extraction wound to play the role of pressure to stop bleeding. The initial blood clot will be formed in the corresponding extraction wound 15-20 minutes after the extraction, after which the pressure can be removed. Patients are not advised to brush their teeth, rinse their mouths, lick the wound with their tongues, or suck on the wound for 24 hours after extraction, all to prevent secondary bleeding due to dislodging of the clot in the wound. In addition, do not eat food that is too hot or too hard to avoid irritating the extraction wound.
