What does enteral nutrition support mean?

Enteral nutrition support is actually one of the branches of nutrition support in medical care. Nutrition support is divided into enteral nutrition support and parenteral nutrition support, which was actually called nutrition support back in the early 1990s or 2000s, but now with the emphasis on nutrition therapy and patient nutrition, nutrition support has been changed to nutrition therapy, so it should be enteral nutrition therapy. Enteral nutrition therapy is called enteral, which is administered through the mouth, through the nasal tube, and then through the stomach and intestines to digest. For example, after the patient is hospitalized or the patient is at home for a long time, he/she eats very little by himself/herself, and more often than not, he/she is given a gastric tube or an intestinal tube to provide food, to provide enough energy, to provide enough nutrients, and then to enable the patient to support his/her own organs and physiology. This is the most basic aspect of nutritional support. It is the need to maintain the normal needs of the body to promote the recovery of the disease, which is enteral nutrition.
