What are the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease?

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may present symptoms such as cough, sputum, shortness of breath, dyspnea and loss of appetite.
1. Early stage of the disease: patients usually have no obvious clinical manifestations.
2. Disease exacerbation: patients will have cough and sputum. Coughing is usually obvious in the morning. The amount of sputum is more than usual, the color of sputum is white or yellow, and the sputum is sticky. The patient may also experience obvious shortness of breath or dyspnea when moving around.
3. Disease exacerbation stage: wheezing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath may also be evident when the patient does some simple things, such as eating or dressing.
4. Advanced stage of the disease: Patients may experience symptoms such as loss of appetite, weight loss, and fatigue.
Some patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease may also suffer from emaciation, anxiety, osteoporosis, and in severe cases, hypoxia or even heart failure and pulmonary hypertension, such as cyanosis, edema, coma, and so on.
When the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for consultation and timely treatment under the guidance of specialized doctors.
