Moderate inflammation of the cervix is cervicitis, there is no need to be too nervous, most women who have sex have inflammation of the cervix, as long as there are no symptoms (such as purulent leucorrhea, bleeding during intercourse, etc.) and cervical cancer screening are normal, there is no major problem. In the case of acute cervicitis, it is usually characterized by surface congestion, edema and a large amount of purulent discharge, the cause of which may be gonococcal and chlamydial infections, which are usually positive to touch blood during gynecological examination, while chronic cervicitis mostly has no special symptoms, mainly manifested as cervical polyps, cervical hypertrophy, cervical canal mucositis and cervical cysts. However, all symptomatic cervicitis should be actively treated with oral antibiotics and local intravaginal administration. Before treatment, cervical cancer screening (TCT, HPV) must be performed routinely, i.e., TCT only for women younger than 25 years old; otherwise, a combination of both tests is recommended to avoid leakage. For cervical polyps, polyp removal is recommended. If the polyp is deeper and located at the end of the cervical canal, hysteroscopic polypectomy can be performed, which is more intuitive and reduces the probability of recurrence. Cervical cysts are mainly due to blockage of the cervical glandular ducts or narrowing of the internal vaginal secretions that cannot flow out and eventually form cysts. In short, simple cervicitis does not matter, as long as the medication is regulated according to medical advice, it is best not to have intercourse during treatment.
