It can be used to treat stroke, epilepsy, etc. Together with the Hegu point, Taichong can open the orifices and awaken the mind (opening the orifices of the brain and clearing the mind), analgesic and antispasmodic. It can also be used to treat jaundice, bitter taste in the mouth, coercive pain (pain in the area of the coats of arms and ribs), abdominal distension, and other disorders of Liver-Stomach disharmony (disharmony between the ascending Liver and descending Stomach), and can be used in conjunction with acupoints such as Xingmai and Ximen. This point can also be used to treat pain in the foot and shin, and can be combined with the localized Ah Yes point (the point where the sensation of soreness, numbness, distension and pain is pronounced).
