Do children born with hypoxia recover their intelligence?

The intelligence of children born with mild hypoxia may recover, but the intelligence of children born with severe hypoxia is generally more difficult to recover.
Whether a child’s intelligence can recover from anoxia at birth depends on the severity of the disease. If the child’s hypoxia is mild and has little effect on his/her intelligence, the child’s intelligence can usually return to normal after actively adopting functional rehabilitation and intellectual training, and the child’s quality of life and study will not be affected.
If the child is born with severe hypoxia, which has a greater impact on intelligence, or even clear necrosis of part of the brain tissue, it is usually more difficult for the child’s intelligence to recover. It is worth noting that active cooperation with the doctor in the use of ganglioside, methylcobalamin and other nutritive neurological drugs, as well as active rehabilitation training, can improve the prognosis and reduce the impact on the quality of life.
Parents are advised to actively cooperate with the doctor according to the actual condition of the child, and regularly consult the doctor for review in order to monitor the change of the condition. The above medications should be used in accordance with medical advice.
