Whenever I jump rope, I leak urine. Will it improve if I keep jumping rope?

Adherence to rope skipping can not improve the patient’s symptoms of urinary leakage, and even lead to further aggravation of the symptoms of urinary leakage.

A jump rope on the leakage of urine is common in middle-aged and elderly women with stress urinary incontinence, stress urinary incontinence refers to the patient’s pelvic floor muscle relaxation, the urethra support weakened, due to coughing, sneezing and other actions lead to increased intra-abdominal pressure, which led to the phenomenon of leakage of urine.

Jumping rope will only further increase the abdominal pressure, leading to further pelvic organ prolapse, and therefore will not improve the leakage, but rather the symptoms will be further aggravated.

If it is a mild leakage of urine can be improved through the pelvic floor muscle function exercise, such as contraction of the anus-based pelvic floor muscle strengthening training, each time to tighten the anus for no less than 3 seconds, and then relax, and continuously do 15 to 30 minutes; and severe leakage of urine need to perform pelvic floor reconstruction surgery, urethral sling surgery, and so on.

Therefore, once the patient jumps rope, coughs or sneezes in the process of urine leakage, should promptly go to the hospital for consultation, after the doctor’s diagnosis to determine the appropriate treatment plan.
