Why do I need breast cancer screening?

  1.Why do we need breast disease screening?  According to the Ministry of Health, breast cancer has become a serious threat to women in China, and its mortality rate is increasing rapidly at 3% per year, far surpassing lung cancer as the fastest growing cancer in China in the past 10 years. On the other hand, breast cancer is a tumor that occurs on the surface of the body and can be easily detected and treated at an early stage to reduce the mortality rate.  2.What are the common diseases of the breast?  (1) Breast hyperplasia is the most common disease, with an incidence of more than 50% among women, also known as lobular hyperplasia, cystic hyperplasia, and mastopexy.  (2) Breast fibroids are mostly seen in young women, with round masses palpable in the breast, mostly solitary, and treated by surgical excision.  (3) Intraductal papilloma is a benign tumor occurring in the milk ducts, which is a precancerous lesion and should be treated surgically once the diagnosis is clear.  (4) Malignant tumors of breast are mainly breast cancer, but the incidence of sarcoma is also increasing. Early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is the key to successful treatment.  (3) High risk groups for breast cancer (1) Family history, immediate family members such as mother or sister with breast cancer or positive test for related genes; (2) Breast cancer in one breast and increased chance of the opposite breast; (3) History of breast radiotherapy; (4) Hormone replacement therapy; (5) Breast with other diseases such as mastopathy, intraductal papilloma, atypical hyperplasia, lobular carcinoma in situ; (6) (6) menstrual menarche earlier than 12 years old, menopause later than 50 years old, first childbirth older than 35 years old; (7) significant weight gain after menopause; (8) poor lifestyle habits: smoking, alcohol abuse, frying food and high-fat food.  4, breast disease screening program in accordance with international standards, women from 20 years of age, monthly self-examination, every three years by a doctor for a breast examination; 35 years of age or older women should be a basic mammography examination, as a later judgment of the condition of the control material; 40 years of age or older women’s breast examination to be carried out every six months, every year for a mammogram.
