How to treat meningioma calcification

Treatment for meningioma calcification is usually chosen to be conservative and observational, or surgical if the meningioma calcification grows progressively. Surgery can choose traditional craniotomy for tumor resection, or consider minimally invasive neuroendoscopic surgery depending on the situation.
1. Neurosurgery considers calcification of meningioma to be a relatively good phenomenon, indicating that the tumor grows slowly and is generally not highly invasive. If the tumor is detected early, the tumor is not large, and there is no corresponding neurological dysfunction, it can be reviewed regularly and observed conservatively.
2. If the meningioma is relatively large and there are corresponding neurological symptoms such as hemiparesis and sensory impairment, surgical treatment should be actively considered. According to the patient’s physical condition and the local medical level, whether craniotomy or minimally invasive neuroendoscopic surgery is recommended by the attending surgeon, the aim is to cut the tumor completely.
Patients with calcified meningiomas need to seek timely medical treatment to avoid progression of the disease, even life-threatening.
