It is possible to have metastasis after pancreatic cancer surgery, but there is no data on the exact probability. Cardia cancer is categorized into stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ, usually stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ are called early stage and stage Ⅳ is late stage. Generally through standardized surgery as well as preoperative and postoperative treatment, if radical resection can be performed, the 5-year survival rate may be 70%, but the probability of postoperative metastasis is not clear. Different pathological types and differentiation degree will affect the metastatic probability of patients with pancreatic cancer, which needs to be judged according to the actual situation of patients. Generally speaking, those with low malignancy and good differentiation have lower risk of recurrence or metastasis, while those with high malignancy and poor differentiation may have higher possibility of metastasis in the early postoperative period. It is recommended that patients actively cooperate with the treatment, follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review after surgery, closely monitor the development of the disease, and seek timely medical treatment if metastasis occurs.
