Huanglian Ajiao Tang is composed of 6g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 9g of Colla Corii Asini, 6g of Paeoniae Alba, 12g of Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati, and 2 pieces of Chicken Zi Huang, which can be used for the treatment of irritation and heatiness in the heart (irritability and sultriness), and dryness of the mouth and throat.
Huanglian and Agaricus soup is composed of 6g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 9g of Agaricus, 6g of Paeoniae alba, 12g of Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati, 2 pieces of Chicken Zizi Huang, it has the efficacy of lowering the fire and nourishing yin, calming the spirit and getting rid of vexation, and it can be used for the symptoms of yin deficiency with exuberance of fire and heart-renal disharmony (the heart is on fire, the kidney has deficiency of yin, and the physiological functions of the heart and the kidneys are out of order), which are insomnia with no lying down, vexation of the heart with heat and thirst.
In this formula, Rhizoma Coptidis clears and reduces heart fire; Colla Corii Asini nourishes blood and nourishes yin; Scutellaria Baicalensis helps Rhizoma Coptidis to expel fire and clear heat; Paeoniae Alba nourishes yin and nourishes blood; and Chicken Zi Huang nourishes the heart, calms the middle and nourishes the kidney. The combination of these herbs nourishes kidney water and reduces heart fire, and when the heart and kidney are in harmony, all symptoms will be eliminated.
