If you have stones in the kidney, it is recommended to do ultrasound examination of the kidney, ureter and bladder to confirm the size, number and location of the stones, whether they cause hydronephrosis, and the degree of hydronephrosis, and based on these comprehensive assessments, decide what treatment plan to take. For stones smaller than 0.5cm, it is recommended to drink more water and take lithotripsy medication, which can be effectively expelled on your own. If the stone is larger than 0.5cm and smaller than 2.0cm, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can be considered. Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy requires 1-2 times to break up the stone, and then promote the stone discharge by medication and drinking water. If the stone is larger than 2cm, percutaneous nephrolithotomy is recommended.
