Avanafil can usually be used in patients as young as 80 years of age, but it needs to be used under a doctor’s supervision. Avanafil is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men, and according to trials there was no overall difference in the effectiveness and safety of the drug in patients over 65 years of age compared to younger patients, so patients in their 80s can also be treated with the drug if they have indications. Note that Avanafil is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product. Avanafil is contraindicated in patients taking any form of nitrates, either regularly and/or intermittently. Adverse reactions such as headache, nasopharyngitis, flushing, nasal congestion, back pain and muscle pain are common with this drug. Patients 80 years of age need to use Avanafil in accordance with their doctor’s dosage and usage, and should not take it blindly on their own to avoid serious medication risks.
