What’s a viral cough?

There is no such term as viral cough in medicine, it is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract leading to cough, with cough, sore throat as the main symptoms, often accompanied by nasal congestion and runny nose, elevated body temperature and other manifestations, medically known as upper respiratory tract infection.
Upper respiratory tract infections mostly occur in the young and old, weak immunocompromised people, or people with chronic respiratory disease basis. Rain, cold, sudden changes in climate, overwork, etc. can reduce the local defense function of the respiratory tract, resulting in the rapid reproduction of the original virus, or by other patients through sneezing and other air droplet transmission induced by this disease.
Since there is no specific antiviral drug, symptomatic treatment is the mainstay, while quitting smoking, pay attention to rest, drink more water, keep indoor air circulation and prevention of secondary bacterial infections.
