Can you drive after a general gastroscopy?

You can drive after an ordinary gastroscopy, but not if it’s a painless gastroscopy.
Most of the ordinary gastroscopy is using local anesthesia, drink lidocaine gel before the operation, to reduce the irritation effect on the mucosa, this anesthesia will not affect the mental state, so it is possible to drive normally after doing it.
If you have had polypectomy, or other surgery under general gastroscopy, you may experience postoperative bleeding, and try not to drive when you are not advised to make large movements.
If gastroscopy is done with intravenous anesthesia drugs or under general anesthesia, there is a possibility of dizziness and other symptoms after the operation, which may affect the body’s response, and it is not possible to drive.
Try to consult your doctor in detail about whether you can drive after having a gastroscopy.
