There are about two million new tumor patients in China every year, and 2/3 of them have different degrees of pain. Drug therapy is the main means to solve cancer pain, among which opioids have strong analgesic effect and become the main force of cancer pain treatment. How to get opioids correctly for cancer pain patients? In November 2005, the Ministry of Health promulgated the Regulations on the Administration of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, which instructs patients who need opioid analgesics to obtain them in the appropriate specialties of major hospitals in Beijing. The steps to obtain narcotic analgesic drugs are as follows: at the initial consultation, you need to bring the ID card of the patient and the person who takes the drugs (usually a family member), and information related to the oncology consultation and treatment. When registering, first establish an outpatient medical record for hospital record. The doctor who is qualified to use poisonous anesthetics will issue a diagnosis certificate and sign the “informed consent for narcotic drugs”, then go to the outpatient department of the hospital to review and apply for a registration card for narcotic drugs (referred to as anesthesia card), and finally go to the pharmacy to verify the registration and then pick up the drugs. If the patient has mobility problems during the follow-up consultation, the patient’s family can bring the card and ID card to pick up the medication on his behalf. Doctors need to understand the efficacy and adverse reactions of opioid drugs in detail and make records before issuing a second prescription, which can be picked up after pharmacy verification and registration. Clinicians who are not qualified to prescribe narcotic drugs are not allowed to prescribe narcotic drugs. Narcotic drugs prescriptions are generally light red, marked with the words “anesthesia, fine a” on the right, representing narcotic drugs and a class of psychiatric drugs. Prescriptions must be written in full, clear handwriting, no simplification of drug names, no alteration, the drug must be received on the day the prescription is issued, obsolete invalid. Drugs should be strictly reviewed when dispensed, the formulas and checkers should be signed and registered on the hemp card. For those who do not meet the use of narcotic drugs or improper dose users, pharmacy staff has the right to refuse to issue drugs and promptly report. The content of the narcotic drug prescription registration card includes: the name of the patient and the person taking the drug, ID number, the date of dispensing, and the number of drugs used. Injections such as morphine injection, each prescription shall not exceed 3 days of dosage; controlled slow preparation such as fentanyl patch, oxycodone hydrochloride, morphine sulfate controlled release tablets, each prescription shall not exceed 15 days of dosage. The next time you take the medicine to return empty bottles, waste stickers, counted by a person responsible for supervising the destruction and make records. The marijuana card is managed by the city’s network of unified management, to avoid the same patient in multiple hospitals at the same time to prescribe a large number of marijuana. It should be especially noted that people often hold the misconception that “opioid drugs once used will be addictive and can not be stopped”, but in fact, with the remission of the disease and pain relief, you can gradually reduce the dosage or even stop the drug. According to WHO, the main and most urgent task for cancer patients with severe pain is to resolve the pain and improve the quality of life, so that they can have the opportunity to receive further antitumor treatment or effective palliative care.
