Open fracture is more serious than closed fracture, mainly in the following aspects: first, open fracture bone exposed outside, easy to secondary infection, once the infection will cause osteomyelitis. Once infection occurs, it will cause osteomyelitis. After the formation of chronic osteomyelitis, it will cause sinus tracts and fistulas not to heal for a long time. Secondly, it is easy to combine blood vessels, nerve injury, open fracture is mainly injured around the soft tissue, muscles, ligaments, fascia, joint capsule and so on. These soft tissues inside the walking blood vessels and nerves, will inevitably lead to arteries, veins, nerves, lymphatic injuries. Serious arterial puncture will cause a large hematoma, or a lot of blood loss, causing hemorrhagic shock. Nerve damage can cause temporary disruption of nerve conduction in mild cases. In severe cases, it will lead to complete transverse nerve injury, and the function of the limb will not be recoverable in the later stage, which is more serious, and it is also the reason for the seriousness of open fracture.
