Are ground glass nodules scary?

Ground glass nodules in the lungs are generally benign and not particularly scary, and can be treated with regular review of CT and active symptomatic and causative treatment. Ground glass nodules in the lungs can be seen in pneumonia, hemorrhage, pulmonary fibrosis, most benign tumors, a small portion of malignant tumors and other lung diseases. Benign nodules usually do not need treatment, but need regular review of CT, the first time you can go to review CT at an interval of 3 months, if there is no dynamic change, then review at an interval of 6 months. If there is still no change, the nodules can be reviewed annually to prevent further progression. Most incidentally detected ground-glass nodules will shrink or be completely absorbed during follow-up, while a few may progress to malignant tumors such as carcinoma in situ after a few years, which belongs to early stage tumors and requires timely medical attention to determine the staging and early treatment such as surgery. If you find ground glass nodules, it is recommended that you consult a doctor in time and listen to the advice of a professional doctor.
