Gout is a disease characterized by acute arthritis due to reduced excretion of uric acid and impaired purine metabolism. 1. Stasis-heat obstruction type: the main manifestations are redness, swelling and deformation of the joints, unfavorable flexion and extension accompanied by tingling sensation, dark purple color of the skin, and hard nodules around the lesions. The tongue is dark purple or with petechiae, and the pulse is thin and astringent or dull and stringy. Strengthening the spleen and inducing dampness, benefiting the qi and clearing the channels should be the mainstay. Danxi Gout Formula can be used for treatment.
3. Phlegm obstruction type: swollen joints with periarticular swelling, hard nodules at touch but not red in color. The tongue is fat and dull, the moss is white and greasy, and the pulse is slow or slippery. Blood circulation should be activated to remove blood stasis, and phlegm should be dissolved to disperse knots, and Er Chen Tao Hong Drink can be used with additional reduction.
4. Liver and kidney yin deficiency type: gout for a long time, local joint deformation, numbness and insensitivity of the skin, unfavorable flexion and extension, and difficulty in walking. The tongue is red with little moss, and the pulse is thin or fine. The liver and kidney should be tonified, and the pain should be relieved, and the formula should be added with the addition of Duhuo Shengsheng Tang.
In addition, gout can also be treated with medicines such as Macrophyllae Macrophyllae Soup and Angelica Sinensis Pain Relieving Soup.
