Benzalkonium chloride solution is one of the disinfectant solutions that can kill most viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms, and the concentration used will vary depending on the situation in which it is used. In case of 0.1% concentration, it is usually used for disinfection of skin mucous membranes without skin damage, and also for disinfection of surgical personnel for surgical operations before surgery, and also for disinfection and preservation of surgical instruments using 0.1% concentration. Alternatively, if the concentration is slightly lower, for example 0.01% is used for the disinfection treatment of traumatic wounds. If it is used for cleaning of bladder, urethra or deep wounds, the concentration must be even lower, it must be 0.005% so that it does not cause damage to deep skin mucosa.
