What is a vaginal ultrasound?

Vaginal ultrasound is a method of ultrasound diagnosis by putting the ultrasound probe into the vagina with a condom. It is one of the commonly used methods in gynecological examination and is mainly used to observe the uterus, adnexa and pelvis to understand whether there are fibroids, ovarian cysts, early pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy and other manifestations in the uterus. Vaginal ultrasound is widely used in clinical diagnosis and treatment. Because of the location of the probe close to the uterus and ovaries, it has the advantages of clear image, high resolution, convenience and more accurate examination results compared with abdominal ultrasound.
