What is Shanghai International Photodynamics like?

The 4th Shanghai International Forum on Photodynamic Medicine and Photomedicine (the 4th Shanghai International Forum on Photodynamic Medicine and Photomedicine) and the State-level Continuing Medical Education Program The 4th Shanghai International Forum on Photodynamic Medicine and Photomedicine (the 4th Shanghai International Forum on Photodynamic Medicine and Photomedicine) and the National Continuing Medical Education Program (CMEP) “The Latest Progress in the Application of Photodynamic Medicine in Dermatology” were held in the Academic Hall on the third floor of Building 11 of Shanghai Dermatology Hospital. The Shanghai International Photodynamic Medicine Summit Forum is now in its fourth year. This meeting seized the opportunity of domestic photodynamic and photomedicine experts gathering in our hospital during the inaugural meeting of “Photodynamic Therapy Research Center” of Chinese Medical Association Dermatology and Venereology Branch, and included relevant photomedicine research closely related to photodynamic medicine into the scope of discussion, which is the continuation and development of the previous three Shanghai International Photodynamic Medicine Summit Forum. Dozens of experts and scholars in the field of photodynamic and photomedicine from the United States, Canada, Taiwan, China and China were invited to gather in Shencheng City, and a total of more than 100 representatives from 43 institutions participated in this Shanghai International Photodynamic-Photomedicine Summit Forum. Dr. Gary J Fisher, Professor of Dermatology at the University of Michigan, who is the leader of the Photo-aging and Skin Aging Research Program at the University of Michigan, has published nearly 200 papers in top international journals such as Cancer Cell, Aging Cell, Amer J Pathol, etc. and has been cited more than 5,000 times. His keynote speech, “Role of the Dermal Extracellular Matrix in Human Skin Aging”, presented in detail his research results on the molecular mechanisms of skin photoaging and natural aging, including collagen biosynthesis, collagen degradation, signaling and inflammation mechanisms. Prof. Mladen Korbelik, from the Oncology Research Centre of the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, presented “Photodynamic Therapy-induced Antitumor Immunity: Role of Immunogenicity”. Immunity: Role of Immunoregulatory Cells” introduced the role of immunoregulatory cells in photodynamic therapy-induced antitumor immunity. Prof. Xiu-Li Wang introduced the latest progress of photodynamic research and her group’s clinical and basic research on the application of photodynamic therapy for skin cancer and photoaging. The speakers also included Prof. HsingWen Wang from the Department of Bioengineering, University of Maryland Parker School of Medicine, Prof. Heng Gu from the Hospital of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Prof. Jie Zheng from Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, Prof. Min Zheng from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Prof. Dan Luo from the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Hospital, Prof. Chengxin Li from the General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army, Prof. Heyi Zheng from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital Prof. Wang Hongwei from East China Hospital, Prof. Wang Wei Nicco from Wuhan First Hospital, Prof. Zou Xianbiao from the First Hospital of the General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army, and several other renowned experts and professors in the field of photodynamic and photomedicine both at home and abroad. The content of the conference included the application and basic research of photodynamic in HPV infectious diseases (condyloma acuminatum, high-risk HPV infection, etc.), skin tumors, sebaceous gland-related dermatosis, diffuse light source and intrinsic fluorescence to monitor photodynamic response, phototherapy and photo-diagnostic in dermatology, fractional CO2 treatment of acne scarring in the basic and clinical research and other emerging cutting-edge technologies, as well as the clinical application of results demonstration. The high-level academic reports aroused strong interest and heated discussion among the participating scholars, and also provided us with a rare learning opportunity. The meeting was highly valued and strongly supported by President Qin Huanlong, Secretary Shen Yingchun and other leadership team, and carefully deployed for the preparation of the meeting; the meeting was chaired by Prof. Wang Xiuli, Vice President of the hospital, and presided over the opening ceremony, with Secretary Shen Yingchun delivering a welcoming speech, Zhao Rong, Director of the Medical Division of the Shenkang Hospital Development Center, and Zhang Kan, Director of the Science and Education Division of the Shanghai Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission, delivering opening speeches and expressing heartfelt congratulations for the convening of the Summit Forum. They expressed their heartfelt congratulations on the convening of the Summit Forum. With the full participation of the Hospital Office and the Science and Education Department, the organization of the conference also achieved satisfactory results and was fully affirmed by the participating leaders and guests. The successful organization of this meeting has built a good academic exchange platform, which will help us to understand the latest knowledge and hotspot dynamics in the field of photodynamics at home and abroad, promote experts and scholars in the field of photodynamic medicine in China to actively participate in the international exchanges, show the latest results of the research in the field, and at the same time, expand the hospital’s international influence in the field of photodynamic medicine, and lay a good foundation for the hospital to carry out better international exchanges and cooperation in the future. At the same time, it will expand our international influence in the field of photodynamic medicine and lay a good foundation for the hospital to better carry out international exchanges and cooperation in the future.
