What to do if CT reveals small nodular foci in the kidney

CT found small renal nodule foci, need to improve other tests to determine the nature of the nodule, so as to develop an appropriate treatment plan, common treatment modalities are surgical treatment, conservative treatment.
CT found small renal nodule foci may be benign renal tumor, malignant tumor, inflammatory polyps, tuberculosis and so on. The nature of the nodule should be clarified firstly by perfecting the MRI and pathological examination, and then the treatment plan should be decided according to the pathological type, size and location of the nodule.
For clear nodule nature of malignant tumor, such as renal clear cell carcinoma, renal papillary adenocarcinoma, etc., surgical treatment is needed. For smaller tumors partial resection is an option. For larger tumors, radical resection is the better way to treat them with laparoscopic surgery, or open surgery if necessary.
For benign tumors, such as renal staggers, smooth muscle tumors, renal cysts, etc., if the nodule is small and the patient does not have symptoms such as hematuria and lumbar pain, the patient can be followed up for observation and no special treatment for the time being. If the nodule is large and compresses the kidney tissue, and the patient experiences discomfort such as hematuria and low back pain, it can also be removed by surgery.
If the nature of the nodule is inflammatory polyp, nodule caused by tuberculosis, etc., anti-inflammatory and anti-tuberculosis related treatments need to be given.
CT found small renal nodule foci, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s instructions to improve the examination, the doctor will take into account the patient’s medical history, symptoms, other test results and so on to give the appropriate treatment program, should actively cooperate with the treatment.
