This is a concern and worry for many patients and parents! The aesthetic and functional problems caused by protruding teeth (buck teeth), uneven teeth (crowding), and abnormal upper and lower teeth bite are the problems that most patients want to solve. Tooth protrusion and crowding are essentially the sum of the width of the teeth exceeds the space provided by the dental bed (alveolar bone), and the two cannot be matched. We need to remove teeth that are not important for function and aesthetics to make way for aligning the teeth, or inwardly retracting the protruding buck teeth to achieve harmonious aesthetics, health and good function of the teeth and face. Occlusal anomalies are those where the relative position of the upper and lower jaw teeth deviates from the normal cusp-fossa correspondence, which requires extraction to provide clearance for the upper and lower jaw teeth to form an ideal cusp-fossa correspondence.
