Efficacy and Effectiveness of Vildagliptin Tablets

Viglatin tablets are used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, either as monotherapy or in combination with metformin, insulin and sulfonylureas. It belongs to the insulin sensitizer class, which increases fasting and postprandial levels of endogenous enteroglucagon, increases beta-cell sensitivity to glucose, promotes glucose-dependent insulin secretion, and in turn lowers blood glucose. Common adverse effects of the drug include dizziness, so driving and maneuvering machines should be avoided while taking the drug; other adverse effects such as constipation, arthralgia, headache, hypoglycemia, and peripheral edema can also be seen. The drug is contraindicated in patients with the following conditions: hepatic insufficiency, including serum aspartate aminotransferase or serum alanine aminotransferase greater than three times the upper limit of the normal value prior to the start of drug administration; patients with jaundice or other symptoms suggestive of hepatic dysfunction; children and adolescents; pregnant women and breastfeeding women; allergic to the drug. The drug should be used with caution in patients with moderate or severe renal insufficiency or in patients with end-stage renal disease requiring hemodialysis treatment. If you need to use the drug, please be sure to follow the doctor’s instructions strictly under the guidance of the medication, do not self-medication.
