What’s with the chin pimples?

Chin acne is usually referred to as acne vulgaris. The cause of the disease has not been fully clarified, and it may be caused by factors such as heredity, abnormal secretion of sebaceous glands, keratinization of sebaceous glands in hair follicles, and infection by Propionibacterium acnes.
1. Heredity: acne has a certain family heredity, and there will be family aggregation phenomenon, therefore, chin acne may be affected by genetic factors.
2. Abnormal secretion of sebaceous glands: Acne mostly occurs during puberty, when the secretion of androgens increases, causing sebaceous glands to proliferate and sebum secretion to increase; in addition, if the patient eats oily food, often stays up late and does not pay attention to sunscreen, it may lead to abnormal secretion of sebaceous glands, resulting in the appearance of chin acne.
3. Keratinization of follicular sebaceous glands: The openings of the follicular sebaceous glands of acne patients may be hyperkeratinized, making the openings smaller, narrower, or blocked, which may lead to the epithelial cells and sebum shed by the follicle wall not being able to be discharged normally, resulting in the symptom of chin acne.
4. Propionibacterium acnes infection: With the development of the disease, a large amount of lipid aggregation leads to the proliferation of lipophilic and anaerobic Propionibacterium acnes, causing inflammatory reactions in the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles and their surrounding tissues, leading to the occurrence of acne.
It is recommended that patients with chin acne go to a regular hospital in time and under the guidance of a doctor for targeted treatment.
