How old are children susceptible to hand, foot and mouth disease

Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is easily transmitted to children under 5 years of age, with the highest incidence especially in children under 3 years of age.
HFMD is a common infectious disease in children caused by enterovirus infection. The population is generally susceptible to enteroviruses, with children under 5 years of age predominating, and children under 3 years of age being the most common, with summer and fall being the peak season for infection. Typical clinical manifestations of this disease are skin rash, herpes and ulcers on hands, mouth, feet and buttocks, etc. The prognosis of most children is good, but a few children will be in critical condition.
Children with this disease should be isolated and treated as soon as possible, often using broad-spectrum antiviral drugs and symptomatic supportive therapy, commonly used antiviral drugs such as acyclovir and interferon.
If you suspect that your baby is suffering from HFMD, please go to the hospital in time to avoid delay.
