There are many causes of cerebral palsy, but it is not the existence of these causes that will definitely suffer from pediatric cerebral palsy. Surveys have shown that only 5-10% of the cases will suffer from brain damage, so these factors are regarded as the risk factors for the possible occurrence of cerebral palsy. The four risk factors for pediatric cerebral palsy are: 1. Family history factors: The chances of cerebral palsy increase exponentially in those whose families have had cerebral palsy, mental retardation, or congenital malformations. 2. 2. Possible factors during pregnancy: maternal age at first birth, repeated miscarriage, preterm delivery or history of stillbirth; intrauterine infections during pregnancy, such as rubella virus, herpes simplex virus, cytomegalovirus, toxoplasmosis infections, etc.; maternal exposure to radiation, carbon monoxide poisoning, smoking and alcoholism, drugs, etc.; bleeding in early pregnancy; gestational hypertension syndrome; pregnant women suffering from chronic diseases, such as hyperthyroidism, epilepsy, diabetes mellitus, renal disease and so on. 3, perinatal possible factors: preterm delivery, low birth weight; breech delivery, forceps delivery, cesarean section and all kinds of obstructed labor; birth asphyxia; twin fetuses; umbilical cord around the neck; placenta praevia, placenta previa, placental abruption, placenta dysfunction and so on. 4, postnatal possible factors: neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy; neonatal intracranial hemorrhage; persistent jaundice; neonatal central nervous system infection.
