Is it normal to have a high bone bulge in the left shoulder?

Normal people’s shoulders should be equal width bilaterally and there will be no obvious raised bones, this situation is generally abnormal, most commonly seen in shoulder dislocation, scapula protrusion, scoliosis and so on.

Shoulder dislocation often has a clear history of trauma, accompanied by localized pressure and pain, swelling, and obvious elastic fixation, shoulder joint X-ray can be clearly diagnosed.

When there is injury to the anterior serratus or trapezius muscle, there is a loss of the stabilizing structure of the scapular chest wall, and there is also a bulging of the shoulder bones with protrusion of the superior angle of the scapula. An electromyogram can be performed to determine whether there is any abnormality in the nerves innervating the trapezius and anterior serratus muscles.

In some cases of scoliosis, the shoulders may be uneven bilaterally, and the left shoulder bone may bulge high when bending to the right.

There may be other reasons for the left shoulder bone to bulge high. If there is any discomfort, go to the hospital in time to find out the cause and standardize the treatment.
