Finding breast disease requires self-examination

For adult women, self-examination of the breast is very important. Self-examination of breast is the best way to detect tumor in early stage. Since most of the early stage breast cancers do not have conscious symptoms, regular self-examination is necessary for early detection. Self-examination of breast is convenient and can be done at any time when changing clothes or taking a shower. It is generally considered more appropriate to do it after menstruation. This is because before and during menstruation, the breast is often affected by endocrine secretion, and sometimes breast enlargement of varying degrees may occur and breast pain may occur, thus making it easy to make errors. When you are lying down or sitting down, use 4 fingers together and stroke your breasts flat to feel if there is any part of the body that feels foreign, and if it is not flat to the touch it may be the location of a long nodule. Pay special attention to the upper outer part of the breast when examining it, because this is the area with the most glands, and 45% of breast enlargement occurs here. In addition to the upper outer part of the breast, hyperplasia can occur in the upper, lower, lower and outer parts of the areola. Self-examination of the breast should be performed once a month for women over 35 years of age, especially for women with high-risk factors, and 5-7 days after each menstrual period for women with menstruation. Breast self-examination method 1. Take off your shirt and take a standing or sitting position, face the mirror, fully expose both breasts, with both hands hanging down naturally and facing the mirror, carefully observe both breasts for any abnormalities, such as whether the position and size of the nipples are symmetrical, whether both nipples are in the same plane, whether the nipples are overflowing or retracted, and whether there are indentations, edema and nodules in the breast skin. 2.When carefully looking in the mirror, raise your arms, cross your fingers behind your head and press them toward your head, then cross your waist with both hands, turn your shoulders and elbows forward, and bend forward slightly, push up your chest, and observe whether there is any change in the position of your breasts, whether your hands are down, cross your waist, or up, the position of your breasts should be symmetrical. 3, lift the left arm, the right hand three or four fingers together, placed at the left breast, using the belly of the finger, one side of the touch, while drawing small circle movement. After the abnormality is found by light touch, deep touch can be changed. In order not to miss a part of the palpation, it is generally done in the following order: first touch the inner side, then the outer side. When touching the medial side, start from the nipple line and go down to the breast fold, while when touching the lateral side, go from the nipple line outward to the lateral side of the breast and palpate horizontally from the inside out. After completing the above steps, the areola area should then be gently pressed by hand and attention should be paid to the presence of overflow when pinching and squeezing the nipple. Care should be taken not to miss the examination of the lower part of the axilla and the area between the axilla and the breast. The breast should be touched rather than lifted during the examination. Finally, the right breast is examined with the left hand in the same way. The purpose of the examination is to look for nodules, lumps, or nipple discharge. Since more than 80% to 90% of breast cancers can be detected by patients themselves, if abnormal changes are found during self-examination, they should be examined by a mammographer immediately for early diagnosis and treatment. If you have nodules but not diffuse ones, or if the nodules are not hard, you can take Chinese medicine or western medicine to regulate endocrine secretion. If the nodules are diffuse and severe, with frequent pain and no improvement even after taking medication, and if they last for two or three years, you can choose surgery to solve the problem. Doctors generally recommend surgery for women with many nodules that are very extensive to the touch, as well as combined lymphatic problems, the presence of bloody discharge or a family history of breast cancer, and at the same time, pathological examinations are performed during the surgery to rule out the risk of cancer. If one belongs to this more serious condition but does not want to undergo surgery, one needs to visit the hospital every 3 months to avoid any deterioration. It is very important to self-examine your breast every month. Women need to maintain a regular life, stay relaxed and unwind, do not take nourishing supplements indiscriminately, and take proper physical exercise to lead a healthy lifestyle.
