Levofloxacin hydrochloride capsules belong to the fluoroquinolone class of antibacterial agents. These drugs are mainly used for bacterial infections, and mainly for urinary tract and intestinal bacterial infections. Indications for the treatment of urinary tract infections include general urinary tract infections, bacterially induced prostatitis and gonorrhea, and for some gynecological inflammatory diseases such as cervicitis and adnexitis. In addition, for intestinal bacterial infections, such as Shigella, Salmonella and Escherichia coli caused by acute enteritis, gastroenteritis and enteritis caused by Aeromonas, hemolytic bacteria, as well as typhoid fever and some soft tissue infections, can be treated with anti-inflammatory treatment with fluoroquinolones, namely levofloxacin. However, the use of these drugs should be prevented in patients under 18 years of age, because they can cause inflammation of tissues and joints. It is not recommended to overdose, because overdose of fluoroquinolone antimicrobials may increase the chance of Achilles tendon rupture.
