What are the misconceptions of stroke rehabilitation treatment

Rehabilitation is very important for stroke patients, but stroke rehabilitation is often misguided. Misconception 1: Patients can recover gradually with medication, rest and nutrition, and do not need rehabilitation. This is very wrong and can lead to serious sequelae and affect the quality of life. Misconception 2: Stroke hemiplegia treatment is acupuncture and massage. Rehabilitation is a systematic project that includes exercise therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, psychotherapy, rehabilitation engineering, rehabilitation care, etc. Misconception 3: The more care and support from the family, the faster the patient will recover. This is wrong. The more support and help, the slower the patient will recover if he or she cannot exercise. Misconception 4: Rehabilitation is not effective for post-stroke. This is wrong. Rehabilitation should be started as early as possible, usually about 1 week after the stroke, and the best recovery period is within 3 months after the stroke. It is also effective for patients who have been ill for more than 3 months. The key is to exercise in the right way.
