Circumcision in gynecology generally refers to cervical cerclage, which can also be performed on women in their 40’s who have cervical lesions in order to treat them or make a definitive diagnosis.
Cervical cerclage, also called conization, is performed in two ways: transcervical lipectomy and cold knife conization, and is a method of confirming the diagnosis and treatment of cervical disease, which is required if cervical intraepithelial neoplasia or cervical cancer is suspected.
Histopathologic examination can be performed after the surgery to confirm the diagnosis. There is no age requirement for cervical cerclage, and anyone who meets the conditions for the surgery can go to a regular hospital to undergo the surgery.
After cervical cerclage surgery, there will be a period of vaginal bleeding, usually bleeding may last one to two weeks, after the surgery, the wound will take about two months to fully recover, so after the surgery, we should prohibit sexual intercourse and pelvic baths for two months, and comply with the doctor’s instructions for re-examination, dynamic observation of postoperative recovery of the incision, during which you should be diligent in changing underwear, pay attention to personal hygiene.
Cervical cerclage has surgical indications, should choose the regular hospital, if the body has some special circumstances after the operation, such as heavy vaginal bleeding or menopause, etc., to communicate with the doctor in a timely manner.
