What’s wrong with the whites of the eyes?

The yellowing of the whites of the patient’s eyes may be caused by pathologic factors and may also be related to physiologic factors.
1. Pathological factors: if the patient’s eye sclera is yellow, it may be caused by liver lesions. Liver disease can lead to relatively high bilirubin content in the patient’s blood, resulting in yellowing of the sclera, which can also be accompanied by yellowing of the skin, itching and other discomforts.
2. Physiological factors: the eyeballs, including the sclera and conjunctiva, are exposed to the surface of the eye all year round, in close contact with the external environment, exposed to the wind and sun all year round, and metabolic wastes can not be discharged in time, the pigment can be deposited in the sclera or the conjunctiva under the eye, resulting in the yellowing of the eye whites.
It is recommended that patients with yellowing of the whites of the eyes should consult a doctor to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
