A high urinary squamous epithelium indicates a large amount of squamous epithelium in a routine urine test. In men or women, the vast majority of the urinary tract is glandular epithelium, not squamous epithelium, and a high squamous epithelium is a cause for concern. Male patients should be aware of the possibility of bladder cancer and it is recommended to do a cystoscopy to see if there are any obvious neoplasms in the bladder and if so, a biopsy should be taken and then confirm exactly what the disease is. In female patients with high squamous epithelium, attention should be paid to whether there is vaginal secretions entering the urethra, resulting in squamous epithelium in the urine. In this case, further gynecological examinations, such as colposcopy as well as examination of leukocyte secretions, should be done to check whether there are other gynecological diseases.
