Trust Chinese medicine to treat diabetes

We often meet some diabetic patients, and after asking their medical history, we feel very uncomfortable. Some patients are admitted to hospital with frequent hypoglycemia, some patients have good glycemic control but kidney failure, some patients have good glycemic control in the past, but suddenly rise, and all regular hypoglycemic drugs are ineffective, including insulin. Some of them had not gone to the hospital because they had diabetes, but they heard from their friends that a certain Chinese medicine was good, so they went to buy and eat it. Some of them were originally using western medicine to lower their blood sugar, but they heard from others that Chinese medicine was effective and had fewer side effects, so they stopped western medicine and took Chinese medicine instead. Some of them told us that there are many people in our town who take this medicine (proprietary Chinese medicine), and their blood sugar is well controlled; some of them told us that this medicine is bought from XX Pharmacy, a famous chain of pharmacies in China, and their blood sugar is not high when they eat it. In the face of these patients, the author sometimes jokingly said: If there really is such a good Chinese medicine, China has long won the Nobel Prize in medicine, Western medicine can not be sold. Here again, the author cautions sugar lovers to believe in Chinese medicine, which can help you regulate yin and yang and improve symptoms, but do not be superstitious about it. First of all, sugar lovers need to know that diabetes can be understood as a high level of sugar in the blood, sugar can not be used, why can not be used? There are two main reasons: 1. Insufficient insulin secretion; 2. Insulin resistance. For Chinese diabetic patients, insulin secretion is not enough, insulin is a necessary substance to lower blood sugar, without insulin, blood sugar can not be used, it becomes high blood sugar. If the patient’s blood sugar is just a little bit high, through their own diet control, strengthen exercise, with regular Chinese medicine to cultivate the spleen and kidney, blood sugar may be able to return to normal, but if the blood sugar is high, for example, fasting blood sugar 10mmol/L, simply take Chinese medicine, blood sugar may drop, but it is difficult to drop to the ideal level, in addition, the patient to obtain the blood sugar drop, may only be related to lifestyle changes, but not with drugs. In addition, the blood glucose reduction obtained by the patient may be related to lifestyle changes only, and not to drugs. Some people may ask: Why do some pCms really bring down blood sugar? How can you be sure that a proprietary Chinese medicine is made of pure Chinese medicine? Will the manufacturer tell you the true composition of the drug? You may ask, “This is sold by a national pharmacy chain. Have you seen any hospitals that sell such effective pCms? You may say, look at the box is written on the national medicine approved character it. I really don’t want to say anything else. The patients with frequent hypoglycemia disappeared after stopping a proprietary Chinese medicine; several patients with good blood sugar control are not very old but have abnormal blood creatinine (that is, signs of renal failure); patients with good blood sugar in the past but whose blood sugar does not drop now have only dropped to 11 mmol/L fasting after using a variety of programs. The author often says to sugar lovers that if a certain If there is no obvious hypoglycemic effect, then dare to eat, at least the damage to the body may be less. The sugar lovers will again ask, since Chinese medicine does not have an obvious sugar-lowering effect, then why do we still prescribe Chinese medicine to eat? According to Chinese medicine, diabetes is mostly caused by spleen deficiency, and depending on the symptoms, complications, and tongue and pulse, it can also be identified as kidney deficiency, blood stasis, dampness and heat, and so on. By strengthening the spleen and tonifying the kidneys, activating blood stasis and clearing heat and dampness, TCM practitioners can improve the quality of life of sugar lovers by improving their symptoms such as weakness, dry mouth, numbness of limbs, poor sleep and abnormal stools. So, once again, I would like to caution sugar lovers: don’t be superstitious in Chinese medicine, but believe in it.
