Protective tips for high-dose methotrexate chemotherapy

High-dose MTX-containing chemotherapy regimens have significantly improved the long-term survival of children with acute lymphoma and adults with lymphoma. How to rationally avoid the related adverse effects and toxicity of the drugs, in addition to the improvement of the treatment regimen, the patient’s personal protection is also very important. Today, we held a patient exchange session in the doctor-patient house for patients who had cooperated with the completion of high-dose MTX chemotherapy, and the child K (7 years old, pediatric B-ALL) summarized his personal experience in this aspect of treatment, from the firmness of the belief in the treatment, the observation, reporting, and response to the adverse reactions, the timing of the CF rescue and the concentration requirements, the quantitative indicators of hydration and alkalinization, the dietary and daily living methods, the details of the gargling bath, the combination of chemotherapy and sheath injection regimens, and the treatment of the lymphoma. We gave a comprehensive and detailed experience report to the patients on the combination of chemotherapy and sheath injection, as well as the efficacy and prognosis of the disease. This activity was applauded by the patients, which not only promoted the communication between doctors and patients, but also facilitated the safe implementation and smooth completion of high-dose chemotherapy, which has certain practical significance for improving the efficacy of the disease, reducing complications, alleviating the pain of patients and reducing the cost of treatment.
