If the left side of the head hurts all the time, it is more likely to be a functional headache, or it may be a typical migraine. In case of migraine, the incidence is generally higher in women than in men, and it often starts in youth, alternating with attacks, remission and reoccurrences, and after middle age, the frequency of attacks decreases because of poor sleep, exertion or mental tension, which can easily trigger headache attacks. Some patients may have the aura of migraine attacks, which may be manifested by symptoms such as seeing things with flashes of light or bending of light. Migraine attacks may be violent, accompanied by nausea and vomiting, and the headache can reach its peak within an hour. The main treatment is symptomatic pain relief, and oral treprostatin can be taken to relieve the headache.
