Can jaw disorder syndrome heal on its own?

Jaw joint disorder syndrome is a group of disorders in which the jaw joint in front of the ear, popping of the joint when opening and closing the mouth, or restricted mouth opening, or painful joint when opening the mouth. In addition, a crooked jaw or a receding jaw when opening the mouth also falls under the category of joint disorders. If the pain is not severe, or if the joints are mild with popping and restricted mouth opening, it can gradually heal itself after self-adjustment if the immune system is strong. If the patient’s symptoms are more severe and his or her resistance is lower, self-healing is more difficult and the condition may gradually worsen, so he or she needs to actively seek medical treatment.
