What’s wrong with eye pigmentation?

Most of the pigmentation on the eyes belongs to benign changes, may occur in more locations, such as eyelids, conjunctiva, the appearance can be clearly seen, may be localized nevus-like, can also be presented as a sheet. Causes include pigmented nevi, age spots or local scarring residual pigment, etc. If you feel that it affects your appearance significantly, you can undergo laser or surgical excision, and a larger range of skin grafts can be used, depending on the individual’s needs to choose. If the pigmentation is inside the eye, it may be an abnormal structure located in the retina. A small amount of pigment can be observed, and most of it will not affect vision or change. If it is a large amount of osteoblast-like pigmentation, it may be a more serious hereditary disease, retinitis pigmentosa. There is not much treatment for this condition, and patients show progressive vision loss and visual field defects.
