Normal semen color

Normal semen is off-white or slightly yellowish in color, while it liquefies to a translucent milky white. Semen is usually the liquid that is ejected from the urethra when a man is in the state of orgasm, and it is a viscous liquid, mainly composed of sperm and seminal plasma. The color of normal semen is usually grayish white, and after liquefaction, it is translucent milky white, and if a man has not ejaculated for a long time, the semen can be slightly light yellow, which is also a normal phenomenon. If there is yellowish green semen, it is an abnormal phenomenon, considering that the patient has inflammation of the reproductive tract or parasympathetic glands, such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, etc.; and when the patient has red semen, it is called hematospermia, which is most commonly seen in posterior urethritis, posterior urethral adenoma. At the same time, normal semen will be accompanied by a fishy odor, mainly produced by the prostate gland, if there is impaired secretion function of the prostate gland, there will be a lack of fishy odor. It is recommended that men pay more attention to the color and smell of their own semen, and if abnormal semen occurs, it is also necessary to consult a doctor in time for targeted treatment.
