What to do if you have a gastric perforation

Once the examination determines that the stomach is perforated, the patient must immediately go to the hospital and must be treated with emergency surgery. Gastric perforation is one of the most common complications of peptic ulcers, and is more common clinically, usually presenting as acute abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, or in severe cases, shock. Once the clinical diagnosis of gastric perforation is confirmed, it is important to go to the hospital immediately for surgical treatment in this case. If surgery is not performed in a timely manner, it may lead to acute peritonitis and, in severe cases, to death. Many patients have gastric perforation after eating, in which case it is usually accompanied by peritonitis, and in addition to surgery, anti-infective treatment should be actively given, and such patients must fast. Some patients have chronic perforation, which is clinically rare. If the perforation is not obvious, conservative treatment methods can be adopted, but severe cases should also be treated with active surgery. Gastric perforation is a common and dangerous disease in surgery, generally after active clinical treatment, many patients can indeed be cured, if not actively treated will delay the patient’s condition, serious cases will lead to the patient’s death, do not have a fluke mentality.
